About

Mary Kathryn Medlock, aka, MK, aka, LOVEMKM is a multi-disciplinary artist in Brooklyn, NYC. She creates in a screen print Artist’s studio, in Bushwick and describes herself as a process Artist, which means the technical execution of making the Art, be it screen printing, painting, fashion, or digital work, is just as emotional, personally transformative and important as the completed Art itself.

A former fashion retail professional, she is inspired by textiles and clothing and even has her own small line of home textiles. She enjoys working with clothing design in her own expressions; screen printing motifs on denim jackets and vintage clothing. She frequently experiments with sewing textiles onto canvases for her multi media works.

MK incorporates her own portrait into her “Love Yourself” street art, and her print work and paintings, as representations of different expressions of feminine archetypes.

A world traveler and spiritual junkie, MK has devoted herself to personal development, self-love and healing. She believes in the power of maintaining a high vibrational energetic frequency to attract positive life experiences and breaking generational trauma patterns. She’s partaken in sacred plant medicine ceremonies in the Costa Rican jungles, sat in hours long meditations at Dr. Joe Dispenza advanced student retreats and visited ancient sites, like Machu Pichu in Peru, the tomb of Mary Magdalene in France, and the mysterious under ground cities of Cappadocia, Turkey.

She often channels the high vibrational frequencies from her spiritual pursuits into her Art, her paintings in particular, that just flow right out of her after a particularly moving experience, transferring the “vibe” to those that view the Paintings. One of her most treasured adventures was when she and an intimate group of fellow spiritual seekers, climbed inside the Great Pyramid of Giza to the King’s Chamber Tomb and experienced a real life angelic high frequency activation, in a group mediation, that was literally “out of this world” .

MK has had three solo shows as well as multiple group art shows throughout Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn and participates at Superfine Art fair annually. She has large scale Installations regularly on view in curated mural project, Underhill / Washington Walls in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Her print work has been purchased by NBC Universal for use in a television set design, and her street art paste ups can be spotted all over the world.

MK is open to collaborative requests, podcast interviews, and commission inquiries; see connect page.
